We have started learning our "star words" !!!!

We usually learn 2 new words every week

(but this week 2 of our words were sooo easy that we decided we could learn 2 more this week)

 

We have a song and actions that go with each word

and

we do activities through the week to for each word

 

 

 

We have been going over different ways to read a book

and we have been practicing the 3 ways during our "Read to Self"

 

During the Daily 5, one of the things we do is "read to self"  we have been going over what we do during that time.

 

During"Read to Self" we have made it up to 8 minutes of reading !!

We are very proud of the fact that we can read for 8 minutes already !!!

 

Today we read Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse and we wrote on a journal page for the first time !!!

We drew a picture of our favorite toy and then we tried to wirte the sounds we heard.  Everyone picked a different toy and tried their best to write the name of their toy.

We shared our journal pages on the smartboard.
